Idea One

Player is introduced to the reality through an introductory DVD with a silhouetted person(?) sitting in front of an official looking building or something (Green Screen). They inform the player of a location that they need to go to followed by a set of instructions on how to get there from their current location. In the package with the DVD is a map going along Queen St down towards Britomart Station as well as a train ticket heading to the location. As the player walks towards the door heading towards Queen St they are grabbed by the shoulders and told to stop where they are.

A young man with a hoodie, sunglasses and a bandanna around their mouth hiding all possible defining features (Possibly even an anonymous white mask?), points out the security camera in the room they were about to enter and describe the way that the government has been cataloging anything and everyone that gets caught on camera. This government has so much information about everything within the town that they can use any of that information to not only manipulate people to do things they want, but also makes it easy for them to frame innocent people for cover-ups.

The man quickly leads the player out the opposite exit, and out towards a more secluded area where he begins to discuss the way things started. He talks of the Urawera incident and how the police already have hidden cameras on property almost everywhere. At this point the governments real intentions become clear. With the ability to see almost everywhere at any given time the government have a huge amount of knowledge that they can use to what ever advantage they choose. They  have been cataloging the everyday lives of ordinary people originaly out of interest butthere have been cases of using it to blackmail and threaten people but they also use it as a way of covering up after their own mistakes or conspiracies.

In the first week we've been trying to brainstorm a lot to figure out what exactly we wanted to talk about and the above story is one of our possible ideas that we all quite liked its about creating a world where surveillance is completely heightened everyone is always being watched, we wanted to stimulate a feeling that people felt like their next moves were almost predicted and where they felt very controlled with little freedom.
