This style of art helped me to create my final cover that was used not only on the package of my product but also for the label on the cd cover. I based my drawings on something that really appealed to me and also was very appropriate to my package and theme. The variation in lines was very little so when i had to use the Laser cutter to engrave the drawing onto the package it worked very efficiently with no problems at all. This proved to save me a lot of time because watching the other complex designs that other students had created really showed tested the preciseness of thing represented in this particular project.

Egyptian ART
"The Egyptians were one of the first major civilizations to codify design elements in art. The wall paintings done in the service of the Pharaohs followed a rigid code of visual rules and meanings. Early Egyptian art is characterized by absence of linear perspective,
which results in a seemingly flat space. These artists tended to create
images based on what they knew, and not as much on what they see.
Objects in these artworks generally do not decrease in size as they
increase in distance and there is little shading to indicate depth. Sometimes, distance is indicated through the use of tiered space,
where more distant objects are drawn higher above the nearby objects,
but in the same scale and with no overlapping of forms. People and
objects are almost always drawn in profile" - wikipedia
I was conducting some research regarding the design for my packaging i've always quite liked their art works and thought it very much be relevant to the constant tribal theme i wanted to represent on my package. This is an example of the style of art work i wanted to create to go on the cover of my packaging.
